The recent recalling of more than eight million Toyota cars worldwide may have been unfortunate for any business fleet which included a Toyota car involved in the recall - but it’s good news for the future of cars in general.
After acceleration problems came to light in multiple models and braking faults were recorded in the Prius hybrid the company took the decision to recall millions of vehicles - including more than 2,000 Prius cars in Australia. As a result of these issues the company has now established a new engineering quality improvement division to ensure the safety of its cars, and also set up a special committee for global quality which included representation from this country. The recent scare will no doubt make car manufacturers more devoted to producing safer cars and scrutinising more closer the performances of their products which can only be a good thing for companies looking for high performance and reliability in their fleets.
